Sir John Pound
John Pound was the son of the founder, Henry Pound and upon inheriting the business grew it to the point where there was an extensive store network across the desirable shopping areas of London.
Through his charitable causes and pursuit of raising money for the poor and needy, he helped shape London into the city that it is today. He also raised money for Epping Forest and helped to buy the land for the City of London School. Latterly he was also Chairman of the London buses. He become Lord Mayor of London and was subsequently created Baronet in 1915. This collection is named after Sir John.
